Become an Ambassador

The Power Of Passionate Voices

We are appealing to you, our Members, our staff, our Board and our community, to add your voices in support of the work we are doing at Gandangara. You can make a real, positive contribution to our efforts in advancing the interests of First Peoples and closing the gap, by becoming a volunteer or ambassador for us.

All you need is the desire to help your community and others who may be less fortunate than yourself, and the passion to advocate on their behalf. Your personal efforts, you voice can and will make a real difference.

If you have that eagerness and zeal for helping others, we can really use your freshness and energy in supporting and promoting Gandangara. In return you’ll get the personal satisfaction of knowing you are making a positive difference, as well as the hands-on experience and skills of doing community work to add to your CV.

 

Wondering What It Takes?

To become a Gandangara Ambassador, here are the skills and personal attributes that will help to make you a good one. 

You’re a willing person with a can-do attitude who is eager to promote Gandangara, its’ goals and the services it provides for the community.

You’re a confident communicator, who is comfortable with talking to and advising people from all backgrounds via phone, email and social media platforms.

You have a real drive to help others, and are always open to new ways of doing it.

You are a team player who can work co-operatively with our friendly and experienced team, and are willing to let them help you develop your skills so you get the most of being one of our Ambassadors.

 

Location And Working Hours

This role will initially be home-based, to conform to current government restrictions. However, when these are lifted, our Ambassadors will be based at our head office in Macquarie Street.

Your hours of work will vary, but on average they will tend be around 4-10 hours per week, with the opportunity for working additional hours during busier periods. The working pattern is very flexible so that it can allow for any other commitments you may have.
