Join us for our special 103 Moore Street drop–in sessions as we celebrate the Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council 40th Anniversary. These sessions are open to all Members and the Community!
What to Expect at the Drop-In Sessions:
As the planning develops, we’re eager to share updates with the community. From early building features to layout designs, textures, and other key details, you’ll be able to see how this important project is shaping up week by week. Our team is on hand to answer questions, walk you through the current progress, and discuss how each element contributes to the overall vision of the Cultural Connection Hub.
Whether you’re curious about the materials being used, the design of the space, or how the project aligns with the goals of the CLBP, this is your chance to stay informed and be part of the journey. We value your thoughts and feedback as we continue to build this space for future generations.
Come by every Tuesday to connect with our team, explore the updates, and learn how we’re weaving cultural significance into every part of the hub. It’s an exciting time, and we want to share it with you.
As part of our Gandangara Cultural Connection Hub project, the Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council (GLALC) will be replacing the current building with a new, purpose-built facility that will become the heart of our operations and a central space for the community.
The Gandangara Cultural Connection Hub is a direct response to the feedback we received from our members during the Community, Land, and Business Plan (CLBP) consultation sessions. The concept reflects the desires and aspirations of our community, aiming to create a space where cultural heritage is preserved, and connections between people and traditions are strengthened.
This new hub will be a place where people can connect, share, and experience a deep sense of community through cultural activities and dedicated spaces, all while safeguarding and nurturing Aboriginal culture within a specially designed Keeping Place.
The design of the Cultural Connection Hub is not only intended to be aesthetically pleasing but also practical, offering a space that fosters unity, pride, and cultural engagement for Gandangara Members and the broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The hub will serve as both a cultural landmark and a functional facility, bringing together Members and the wider community, along with their traditions and stories, in a meaningful way.
The proposed Cultural Connection Hub will include key amenities such as:
This project is an important step in preserving and promoting our culture while creating a space that serves the needs of our community for generations to come.
